Tutorial To Jailbreak iPhone 3GS using Purplera1n for Mac
Geohot has released purplera1n for OS Mac users only, the purpose of this purplera1n is to jailbreak the iPhone 3.0 OS of the iPhone 3GS. The same purplera1n was previously released for OS windows, and this tool have already been tested for both Mac and Windows and they work like a charm!
If you want to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS using purplera1n for your Mac OS X, Thewwwblog has made a short tutorial in that purpose:
- Please go Download Purplera1n for mac
- The next phase is open the application. The file is saved in zip extension, therefore extract it first.
- You should have iTunes 8.2 in you, in case you haven’t, make an upgrade to 8.2 version, because the Jailbreak can’t be done without it.
- Connect the iPhone to your mac
- Press “make it ra1n” on the purplera1n app
The iPhone enters the recovery mode, so you get notified that purplera1n is waiting for the iPhone
Picture of GeoHot will appear to substitute the regular recovery mode screen on your device.
Now after its done, you get notified, and you will see a new app called Freeze with a blank icon in the iPhone. Open that.
You are able to install Cydia on the opening the Freeze app. Why installing Cydia? Because it helps in bringing in the 3rd party applications to your iPhone. So install it like in the bellow image:
After the Cydia installement is completed, you will be confirmed that all processes are success and you have jailbreaken your iPhone 3GS.
