Tutorial To Enable MMS On iPhone 2G

Many people found it’s hard to believe that Apple does not make MMS available for iPhone 2G, it is because that iphone is a non-proxied device, in other word that there is no need for iPhone to have WAP translation to view web content and therefore does not traverse the WAP gateway, but there is hack available to enable MMS for iPhone 2G, but it only works for jailbroken iPhones.

Before go to the tutorial to enable MMS on Iphone 2G read this:

  • If your iPhone 2G have not been jailbroken then head to this link:Jailbreak iPhone 2G for Windows & Mac OS.
  • Afterward make sure you have updated to iPhone 3.0 and have been jailbroken or else you’ll be sorry.

How to Enable MMS on iPhone 2G

  1. Open Cydia
  2. Inside Cydia, find for ActiveMMS2G
  3. Now Install ActiveMMS2G, now click Confirm to make the installation process run.
  4. Wait for the installation process finishes. Now Reboot Device in order to restart your iPhone.
  5. It’s recommended to consult your carrier to make a setting for your MMS. For example if you are T-Mobile US user, visit this page to find the setting. Before continuing to enable MMS make sure you’ve fill its value.
  6. Hit Network to get back and hit Home button to go back to home screen
  7. Power off your iPhone and turn it on again
  8. Launch Messages application after it’s booted up and a Camera icon will appear. Now, you can tap on the icon, select the photo to embed in the message and send it out.

    Hi there,
    Neat post!
    But hey is ‘ActivateMMS2G’ updated to OS 3.1? Coz you have not mentioned which OS this works for, clearly it worked fine and smooth on OS 3.0 but since the update to 3.1 no one has reported this worked.

    People have gotten MMS on their iPhone 2G. But they have been able to get it to work with other carriers such as O2 and T-Mobile. thanks

    Where’s that stinking package man? I can’t find it anywhere. And I do have ispazio’s repo in my cydia sources. I’m running 3.1 though, is that why it’s not showing up? some kind of stupid filter?
