Tips From Google & Bing For Site Architecture Issues

It’s a good to find that both search engines which are Google and the newest one, Bing discussed give special attentions to blogger to rank better in their search engines, both of them recommend site architecture that every blog should build to get best position in search result page. Generally the both of them recommend the same advices, which are summed in 4 areas by Webpronews.

  1. Check that your robots.txt file has the correct status code and isn’t returning an error
  2. Keep in mind some best practices when moving to a new site and the new “Change of address” feature recently added to Webmaster Tools.
  3. Review the settings of the robots.txt file to make sure no pages — particularly those rewritten and/or dynamic — are blocked inappropriately.
  4. Make good use of the rel=”canonical” attribute to reduce the indexing of duplicate content on your domain.

  2. if there are duplicated contents… Before Google will implement penalty, google will look first the site age. In that way,search engine can tell who posted first…

    Actually there’s no penalty for duplicating content, Google just doesn’t rank the duplicated page well, but for some reason why sometime it ranks better than the original page. It can be confusing issue sometimes but I guess it’s just for temporary till Google realized that it’s duplicated page thus it drop the rank to its proper place:D.
