The Absinthe v0.2 is bringing the wanted fixes like no reboot after activating VPN and also blank or white icons on springboard found on the previous version.

Easy and quick fix for White icon apps on Springboard or Homescreen, is simply launch Cydia and then select any free apps there, install the package and then run it. Hope that solves the problem. And also try Absinthe white screen.

Corona Injector Command-Line Interface (CLI) for A5 device has been updated recently bringing support for Windows PC, however using CLI takes advanced skill, but if you are able to, then you can jailbreak your A5 devices from your Windows PC.

Save SHSH Blobs (ECID SHSH) of iOS 4 For Windows, Mac. New support from TinyUmbrella has been released to work with iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS also iPod touch 2G and 3G, unfortunately it’s not yet supported for iPad running iOS 4. One more thing this release does not support iPhone 3G since the idevice does not require you to save SHSH blobs, and other older iPod touch MC model!

In case you are going to jailbreak your device in the future, then having SHSH Blobs for iOS 4.0 saved will ease the job in the future jailbreak. Since Apple won’t let you go back down to older firmware versions for your device. Once you ‘upgrade’ they don’t let you downgrade, therefore you need SHSH Blobs

Here is a tutorial on how to save your SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) of iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2G/3G on iOS 4:

• Download the newest version of TinyUmbrella (here is for Windows, Linux and Mac)
• Do not forget to use iTunes 9.0 or it’s recommended to use iTunes 9.2
• Run the TinyUmbrella and plug in to your iDevices, such as iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
• Hit on “Save My SHSH” now!
• It will be enabled again once a ticket has been generated to save it to saurik’s server.

You are done! One more thing, you must save the signature for your iDevices (iPad, iPhone or iPod touch) before Apple releases the next firmware!

You need to know what is your iPhone 3GS bootrom version, why? Because  it’s currently the available requirement in order to jailbreak iOS 4! So here’s the step by step tutorial to find out iPhone bootrom version for Windows OS!

• Place your iPhone in DFU mode, after you have connected it to the computer.
• Go to your Control Panel (Navigate to Start -> Control Panel)
  
• In control panel, click on Hardware and Sound
  
• Inside Hardware and Sound, hit on Device Manager
  
• Double click to expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers category
  
• Point your mouse’s cursor on Apple Mobile Device USB, then right click on it to go to Properties menu
  
• Now click on Details tab and then click on Device Instance Path
  
• Now move down till the end of the field to see the version of your bootroom. The version should look like [iBoot-359.3]
  

If iPhone 3GS bootrom version is iBoot-359.3, which means it’s the old bootrom. And the new bootrom version is iBoot-359.3.2

This tutorial is for those who have decided to downgrade iOS 4.0 to iPhone OS 3.1.3 because of certain reasons, and I will separate the tutorial into 2 sections, which is downgrade iOS 4.0 to OS 3.1.3 for Mac and Windows. And in this post I will start the tutorial for Windows. So now let’s get started!

Note: For iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G users: firstly to make the downgrading process successful your SHSH blobs (at Saurik’s server) must already been saved!

Now edit your HOSTS file and here are the steps to do so:

• Click Start->All Programs->Accessories and you will find Notepad, then right-click on it and select Run as Administrator
• After your Notepad opened then click on File at menu–> Open. Browse or navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc click on HOSTS file.
• After the HOSTS file is opened, copy the following line and paste it at the end of file:
  

  74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

  

• Back to File menu to Save it!.

Here is the second steps to downgraded your iDevice from iOS 4.0 to firmware 3.1.3.

1. You need iRecoveryWin32, so download the file here and then extract the zip file
2. Inside the iRecovery folder, you will “libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.1.exe” so run it and keep it on your desktop.
3. You need to turn iPhone off, then hold HOME and POWER button for 10 seconds.
4. Release the Power button after 10 seconds, but keep holding the HOME button until the message appears on your screen:
   
5. Hit OK. Now hold Option Shift+Restore button in iTunes and browse for 3.1.2 firmware.
6. And then you need to ignore the a message that will appear in a popup telling about error code 1015, remember ignore it!
7. Just close the popup by clicking OK also close iTunes
8. Go to command prompt and type the following command at the console
   

   cd Desktop iRecovery.exe-s setenv auto-boot true saveenv fsboot exit

9. Just sit back to wait for a little while, afterward disconnect iPhone from the cable
10. Press HOME and POWER buttons at the same time to restart your iPhone
11. You will see Apple logo on your screen in this phase, what you need to do is connecting your iPhone to PC via cable and proceed normally with the activation process.

Well done your iDevice has been successfully downgraded from iOS 4.0 to firmware 3.1.3
