Sn0wbreeze developer, iH8sn0w recently showed a screenshot on the existence of Sn0wbreeze 2.2 featuring a new ‘Baseband Preservation Mode’ to teases us.

The fully compatible jailbreak tool for Windows OS, Sn0wBreeze, is confirmed by its developer, iH8sn0w, that the tool can be used to jailbreak iOS 4.2 (which is said will be released within this week). But only if the SHSH Blobs is saved for iOS 4.1 or else you will get tethered jailbreak.

IV : Hit “Start Monitoring”.

V : Now go back to iTunes and do SHIFT + Restore. Then browse for your 3.1.2 IPSW. You will need to restore
to 3.1.2 in order to pwn 4.0.

It will work as long as you place all of the correct files there.

I : Download iBooty GUI here — iBooty for 3GS and Extract it.

II : Extract your Custom IPSW created by sn0wbreeze with 7-Zip or another un-archiver.

III : Grab the kernelcache and bring it into the same folder as ibooty.
Also grab the iBEC from the folder “Firmware\dfu\iBEC.n88ap.RELEASE.dfu”

IV :
* Rename your iBSS 3.1.2 signed to “ibss312.dfu”
* Rename your Kernel 4.0-Custom to “kernel.40″
* Rename your iBEC 4.0-Custom to “ibec40.dfu”

A happy news was thrown by iH8Sn0w because they have managed to performed a tethered 4.0 jailbreak for iPhone 3Gs and they have done that using the new bootrom! And iH8Sn0w added that to do that you need to have 3.1.2 SHSH blobs saved.

Alright… If anyone has their 3.1.2 SHSH blobs, NOT 3.1.3. Then I’ll see if I can produce a tool that will do this job…

Of course this release is not without reason, because there is fix within it for Youtube problems which were found on the previous version

The Sn0wbreeze v1.5.1 is not just bringing Youtube fix, it is also armed with speeding improvement and reliability. This is, of course, a good news for iPhone 2G or 3G users and iPod touch 1G or 2g users, because your iPhone OS 3.1.3 can be jailbroken using Sn0wbreeze v1.5.1 now!

Well a brief explanation, that Sn0wbreeze is another jailbreaking tools like PwnageTool that can help you to create custom .ipsw files. But it is for Windows OS only

Glad to know that Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 V1.5 is already been launched, as the fix version from its previous release: Sn0wbreeze V1.4 and this jailbreaking tool works only for Windows users which means can not be used in Mac machines, if you are a Mac user it is recommended to use PwnageTool 3.1.5 to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 Firmware

Sn0wbreeze v1.5 can be used to jailbreak iPod touch 1G also to jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS (but for bootrom and non-MC ONLY!) and also to help you create custom .ipsw files
