How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 For iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G With PwnageTool 4.1

1. Download PwnageTool 4.1 from here or from Mirror link or here
2. Download iOS 4.1 original firmware according your devices here:
   • iPhone 4
   • iPhone 3GS
   • iPhone 3G
   • iPod touch 2G
   • iPod touch 3G
   • iPod touch 4G
3. Download iTunes 10.01 from this page and install it.
4. Start iTunes 10.1 and sync your iPhone with Mac to backup any necessary data of yours.
5. As usual, start PwnageTool 4.1 to chose your Devices (iPhone, iPod or iPad)
   
6. PwnageTool will start detecting your device correct firmware
7. When PwnageTool asks you something about a contract, click “No”. PwnageTool will then create a custom firmware
8. Now put your device into DFU mode, by holding Power and Home button at the same time for 10 seconds, then release the Power button only while keep holding the Home for another 10 seconds. Then your device is put in DFU mode after the process.
   
9. Now start iTunes, to restore your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, by clicking on your device icon from the sidebar and do the followings: press and hold the left “ALT” button ( MAC ) / the “Shift” button ( Windows ), and then click on “Restore”. Now release the ALT / Shift button.
10. iTunes will then asking for the custom firmware. Browse to the file created on step 7 and then click on “Open”.
11. At this phase all you have to do now is wait, as the your device will show a progress bar for the automated process. The installation will end with a simple reboot, restarting into a jailbroken device.

• Press an hold any icon until it wiggles. Then press the delete badge at the top left of an icon to end the application.
  
• To complete the action just hit the Home button

Dev Team, has once again, solved the problem which is usually occurred when iPhone OS software up-gradation happens, currently they have launched Redsn0w 0.9.4 to help us jailbreak and unlock iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G (unfortunately there will be no unlock for 3G), iPod touch 1G, 2G (older Non-MC models only)

The reason for iPhone 3GS and 3G are unable to be unlocked and jailbreaken it’s simply because the update baseband of the new iPhone 3.1.3. firmware goes to 05.12.01 on 3GS and 3G

As the success of Apple for patching up the loopholes which were found in the previous iPod Touch, as the result of it, the latest iPod Touch 2G models and above do not support jailbreak

Therefore Redsn0w 0.9.4 can be used for only the iPhone 2G, 3G (but will loose your unlock ability) and older Non-MC models of iPod Touch 1G, and iPod Touch 2G
