Since the iH8Sn0w brought the great news and hand to us its SHSH Blobs program version namely iFaith v1.4. Now it’s time to talk about how to save iOS 5.0 and 5.1 SHSH Blobs for iDevices like iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone using iFaith v1.4. But before to that point, it’s better to understand why you need this iFaith.

Using iFaith v1.4 means now you can downgrade on iOS 5, this because the tool dump SHSH Blobs from your iOS 5 and 5.0.1 device, and be able to generate a custom IPSW and then restore to that firmware — in other words downgrade on iOS 5.

This is possible because the iFaith dumps the SHSH Blobs from your iOS 5 devices, not fetching them through Apple’s servers.

And in this post I would like to share a video tutorial to Save SHSH Blobs on Any Firmware using iFaith v1.4, anyway it’s for Windows OS only and you don’t need to have a Jailbroken device in order to follow the guide in the Video, because it’s all about downgrading and saving SHSH Blobs.

Save SHSH Blobs On Any Firmware With iFaith v1.4

Again another iOS 4.3 firmware is released this time is beta 2, well it’s a good news means the final version of the software is approaching. No need more explanations since it’s still in beta flavor means only those who are listed as the iPhone developers who have the honor to download iOS 4.3 Beta 2.

Finally the awaited final version of iOS 4.2.1 is officially released, and contains several features to improve your iDevices (iPhone, iPad also iPod touch) ability such as: Folders, Game Center (iPad), Folders, Airplay, Airprint and more. But remember if you are relied on jailbreak or unlock, better stay away from this update, and wait for the new unlock and jailbreak tool released to download that compatible with the current iOS 4.2.1 firmware.

To upgrade your iOS to 4.2.1, simply start iTunes 10.1 after you have connected your iDevices to computer using USB. Then click "Download and Install" for the upgrade to take process.

But before going into the action make sure to read the following:

1. Restore your iPhone and update the firmware to 4.0.1, if you have a jailbroken iPhone on previous iOS (version 4.0). If it’s not jailbroken yet, just update to 4.0.1
2. Download Redsn0w according to your OS:

You can now jailbreak iOS 4 with PwnageTool 4.0 for Mac, as this jailbreaking tool has been officially released by Dev-Team. With this release you will be able to jailbreak Apple iOS 4 for iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod Touch 2G (Note: “MC” version not supported yet). The reason why PwnageTool 4.0 is cool, because this tool is able to create custom .ipsw firmware so you don’t need to update its baseband for updating to iOS 4. Unfortunately, PwnageTool 4.0 doesn’t support both iPod touch 3G and 2G MC, at least currently!

Now follow the following tutorial to jailbreak your iPhone running on iOS 4 with PwnageTool 4.0:

• As usual download the latest iTunes and PwnageTool 4.0
• Open your iTunes and synchronize between your iPhone and PC, this activity to back up your data!
• Now download both the original iOS 4.0 & PwnageTool 4.0 for iPhone or iPod touch version here. Then move the files to your personal desktop!
• Run PwnageTool 4.0 and choose your device (If your device is Iphone 3GS then choose iPhone 3GS, if iPod Touch then choose it)
• At this phase, PwnageTool 4.0 will search and detect for the correct firmware that match with your device
  
• Click on “No” when PwnageTool asks you “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?”:
• A popup will appear asking you: “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?” just click “NO”:
  

  If you click “Yes” button, your baseband will be updated to the newest version, do it if you rely on supported carrier such AT&T

• It’s time for PwnageTool to make the custom .ipsw file in order for your iPhone to be jailbreak-able
• ihaz Success will appear as a confirmation the your request to create .ipsw has been created!
  
• Wait untill creating .ipsw file finished. Then what you need to after .ipsw created is restoring your iPhone to the custom firmware 4.0 that you just created with PwnageTool 4.0 for iPhone or iPod touch. Afteward, hit and hold left “alt” button (for Windows “Shift”) via your keywboard and then hit on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in the iTunes and then release the “Shift” button.
• This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your downloaded custom firmware 4.0. Select that custom .ipsw file and click on “Open”.
• Now just, let iTunes do the rest of the job. Pay attention: JUST WAIT, untill the installation process done (at this phase iTunes will install the new firmware 4.0 for your iPhone), after the process is done your iPhone will reboot automatically and you will find that have jailbroken iPhone running on iOS 4

Good news for Windows user although PwnageTool is still not available for you but you still can Jailbreak you iPhone using BlackRa1n for Windows. BlackRa1n is proven work for the latest release of Apple firmware 3.1.2 but not hacktivate the iPhone, thus, for non an official Apple approved carried BlackRa1n can’t activate it.

For iPhod touch users, BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak, therefore don’t let your battery die after jailbroken or else you have to reconnect it to the computer & boot it using BlackRa1n.

Please note: Despite this tool supports iPhone OS 3.1.2 it’s better not to update it if you’re currently using iPhone OS 3.0.1 or 3.0, because you will suffer losing your current unlock. It will be better to get PwnageTool to safely update to 3.1 without performing a baseband update. But if you are forced to use 3.1.2 then wait for the latest news of PwnageTool 3.1.4.
