Did you know Apple spot the iPad 3 reference in the iOS 5.1 beta2? Well, Apple did it. Look at the following image as the result of TUAW blog investigation on the latest iOS firmware release, and found the logs about iPad 3 within:

Apple has updated its iOS firmware to be 5.1 beta 2 with build number 9B5127c and seeded for registered developers only on iOS dev center. Things included in the release, mostly for cleaning the bugs found on the previous — hope they put the workaround for the poor iPhone battery life performance too — and to paving the road for the upcoming updates.

However the most prominent sugar detected in this beta 2 is the ability to delete photos taken from iOS 5.1 device can be deleted from Photo Stream and the deleted photo will be automatically removed from photo stream. And as for the older ones can also be disposed manually via your device.

And if you feel annoyed with the App icons and profile photo, they are not loading in apps using Game Center anymore.

Is that all iOS 5.1 beta 2 offering? Not yet found out, as we are familiar enough with Apple’s habit that always places something “world shattering” in the hidden place waiting for some one to dig into and discover it. However you can find more on this release on Apple developers site (link at the last paragraph of this post) . Along with the release, Apple also has made the XCODE 4 available for Mac OS X and iOS.

Update: iTunes 10.5.2 is released.

If you ever heard these last few months battle between Apple and Motorola over the GPRS patent, then the current result of the case is Apple products including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad sales to be banned in Germany, after Motorola Mobility claimed court victory over a preliminary injunction against Apple Inc in Germany.

However the court pushes Motorola Mobility to pay around € 100 million for the injunctions over the €2 billion ($2.7 billion) that Apple requested.

Seems like Apple love to be a suer, keep suing other company due to infringement or piracy. However, ended up losing the battle. Poor Apple.

However there is a change for the Cupertino based company if they want to continue selling their devices is; to modify all their device products by removing the patented feature so as to steer clear of further infringement or else they must stop selling or distributing mobile devices that infringe certain Motorola patents.

Of course Apple would not easily to surrender they will appeal the court to continue the case said their Spokesman, Kristin Huget:

“We are going to appeal the court ruling right away”.

So how is the holiday sales to welcome the new year, will Apple products be available to the country, Kristin further says:

“Holiday shoppers in Germany should have no problem finding the iPad and iPhone they want.”

Looks like the ongoing iPhone battery life headache is still irreparable although in almost every two or three weeks we get the iOS updates, but none of them can break the iPhone battery’s curse.

All the iPhone users who suffer with this unresolved issue are deeply disappointed, they want a device that can live long so they can spend much time enjoying what the handset offers to them, instead feeling worry about battery draining.

I am not the iOS 5.0.X based device user, but I can feel the pain of having a handset that is low battery life.

No matter what the phone offers will be less useful if we are limited to use the installed applications, because worrying the certain app could hungrily eat our battery’s life.

Apple still has no clue on how to fix the issue, this can be seen after all the consecutive releases of iOS 5, the culprit still there and unsolved caused many people gather together demanding the company to end this misery (<<Apple site).

If you visit the link above — which is Apple official support forum — you will see the situation is uncontrollable . Some users even report their battery performance is much worse with iOS 5.1 and so on.

When we all know the main purpose of the said iOS release is to fix the rapid battery drainage issue found in the previous iOS version. Yet. what we are handed is more dreadful than before.

Will this situation last forever, if will not, when it will be over and how Apple will fix the iOS 5 battery life issue? Time will tell!

Albeit the newest slate computer, the iPad 2, will be released on 11th March but it seems Apple don’t want us to be unprepared, recently Apple released 14 iPad 2 demo and guide videos on its official website.

Again iOS firmware update seeded by Apple in the beginning of February 2011, about a half month after Apple released the iOS 4 Beta 2. This recent release is named iOS 4 Beta 3, and as always the version for developers only, after it reached the final stage then Apple will launch for public usage.

Here is a video from Youtube user to demonstrates the four fingers use on iPhone, you know the multitouch gestures option which Apple is issued to replace the Home button with this option. Most people seem disagree with the plan, using four or five fingers to operate iPhone is a blatant clumsy.

But if Apple has decided, who can stop them? Well let’s watch the Multitouch gestures on iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3b1 below:

You might be asking yourself, how DID the man on the video enable the multitouch gestures on iOS 4.3 beta1? The man enabled the feature, and it’s not listed by default.

Apple is said to have carried an internal multitouch gestures test for iPhone 4, which means the iPad smaller size screen will be operated with four fingers if the feature is added in the future.

People consider this move inappropriate considering iPhone screen size is not similar with iPad, the multitouch gestures ability should not be on iPhone or at least the use of four fingers. But wait! there are few important things to do with your four or five fingers such as:

• Pinch to Home Screen
• Swipe up to reveal mustitasking bar
• Swipe left or right between apps

But remember it’s in testing period now, hopefully things will be a lot better when the Cupertino-based company come out with the final result. And it’s also reported that this Multitasking Gesture option won’t be available when they release the gold version of iOS 4.3, thus it’s raising a speculation this option will be added into iOS 5 along with the launch of iPhone 5. Who knows?

Jay Freeman (Saurik) and his team have adorned Cydia with a new goody that probably you always wanted Cydia to had long time a go. The biggest update they put on this unapproved 3rd party applications repository this time is “Manage Account”, with it you can store your entire installed packages and apps you have bought from the Cydia app store.

Whatever you purchased from Cydia will be connected with your Cydia User Account as the purchase authentication, the account can either a Google or Facebook account you used to make purchases in Cydia. Therefore if in the future you buy a new shinny iPhone or restore your iOS firmware, you can get your previous installed jailbreak apps back without needing to search them again in Cydia and re-install them.

But make sure you used only one account for your entire apps purchases, because the “Manage Account” feature is only listing one account for all purchased apps using the account. If you use more than one account, your purchases will be divided among the multiple accounts.

Apple has not owned this feature yet, I am sure people would love to see the similar ability featured in Apple app store. In additions, features like ratings, backup of installed Cydia repo and also App store like commenting are expected to be added in Cydia in the near future.
