Yahoo chat rooms are meant simple to be places for people to hang out online and communicate with and meet people around the world, by typing texts and sending emoticons too to describe their feelings. But it was, currently Chat client such Yahoo, provides a host for additional features to display an impressive multimedia experience. By this, we as chatters are able to play music in Yahoo chat rooms.
I personally don’t really like if entering one room there’s music being played in Voice Chat, I’d better use the mic to talk about something rather than listening the music (sometimes they play very irritating musics) that I could also have it in my Winamp or other media players in my HD, I usually ignore or put the guy on Iggy bin. But since there’s considerable amount of my friends that questioning me on How to play Music in Yahoo Messenger Chat Rooms. Thus, I blog about it.
Ok here’s a short simple steps to anyone wishes to play Music in Yahoo Messenger Chat rooms:
1. First Off pick your songs that you will play and share them to the entire room.
2. And click and open Open Volume Control here’s the icon looks like:
3. And then click on the Option-> Propreties -> Recording -> Showing the volume controls and chose Stereo Mix/Record Mix and Mic and uncheck anything else, then click OK.
4. Then a small pop up window will appear like this:
5. Then do exactly just like the following image:
And leave the box, don’t delete it, you are allowed to minimize it but don’t delete it.
6. And what you need now is the software to use as a mic locker, this is used to hold the mic while you’re playing your song automatically, of course you don’t want to hold the “talk button” by your own hand during the song plays, don’t you? Thus let the YM Mic Locker do the job for you, so you can still chat with your friends by typing them messages in the room while the music plays. Download the mic locker here YM MIC LOCKER
7. Now log in to your Yahoo Messenger account, after logged in — pick up any room you like in the lists. Then activate the YM MIc Locker, after it opens then click drag to talk button and drag it onto Yahoo Chat TALK BUTTON (the blue button), however sometimes the mic locker turn off from talk button while your typing a message on the room, but don’t worry just drag it again to talk button for the second time, this should be fixed the problem. Aha! now the mic is yours.
8. Turn on your favorite songs now, you can use Winamp or any other multimedia players in your HD, so the entire Room can listen what songs you play.

Playing music in chat rooms can be really annoying for others. I don’t like using that.
I agree with “belajar”, it can be really annoying to enter a room with music that i might not like to listen or too many people playing too many songs.

Do you mean sharing music on private message with a friend or one-on-one chat? If that’s what you mean, when you’re PM-ing someone, on your PM Box click “Action” and click “Share Music File” and pick your any song you want to share/play inside your HD and click on it, Yahoo will play your clicked song so your friend can listen to it. Sorry for delay because I was unable to log-in to Yahoo because connection problem.

The way which you tall is right. But in my messanger the option “Share Music File” is not high-lighted. I have downloaded the full septu file of yahoo messanger (ymsgr900_2162_us) & install it by installing the problem of making call is solve but this proble is still.

Hi Preet, You welcome and no problem, but I am sorry I can’t help to find you a solution or may be you should install YM version which has Share Music File supported feature, this way you will able to do music sharing on one one private message with friend
