Linking From Forum Boards Forums, or message boards, are sites that allow Internet users to come together and discuss a variety of topics. A forum consists of static text messages organized into individual discussion threads. A user or administrator initiates a new subject (or thread), and then other forum users may post their replies. Each response to an existing topic is added to the thread in the order it was posted.
As you’ve already known in most of forum, users are able to include links to their sites as part of their signature lines. Any good forum will allow you to place backlinks in your profile signature.
This tactic allows you to create instant backlinks for the search spiders, and since your signature appears each time you post, it can also mean plenty of organic traffic as other users click to your site to see what you have going on. In most cases you can even anchor your links with good keywords. So instead of just putting direct URLs like the users above you can create properly optimized text links.
Some companies use forums as part of their customer support service or member benefits packages. Other forums exist as stand-alone communities dedicated to a particular theme or set of themes. In addition to quality backlink resources, forums also present you with a unique opportunity to promote yourself and your business to a very targeted audience.
If you have time to participate in the discussions by asking good questions, helping others with solid answers, or just being conversational, you will likely make new contacts and acquire new customers.
Quality Contributions Only
As with blog comments, we must note that anything you post in a forum needs to be of a quality nature. You don’t need to add a five star article every time you post obviously, but you should always ask valid questions, provide real answers to other users’ questions, and generally make certain your comments are of a sincere nature.
Posting to forums for the sole purpose of self-promotion will result in your being flamed by other users and possibly even deleted by the administrators. Below are my 2 old posts which contain list of forums you can check out. These boards are relevant to Internet topics like technology, marketing, and general Web support. But regardless of your niche you can always make valid comments in tech/marketing forums; after all a good backlink from anywhere is astep in the right direction.
To find forums specific to your niche you can simply:
1. Keep your eyes open when browsing popular sites in your niche. Many of them may have the link to a forum somewhere in their menu or footer.
2. Do a Google search or two with queries like: “{niche keywords} forum” and “{niche keywords} message board”. Then browse your results for forums that look interesting and join up.
See you again in the next SEO Blog post!

Thank’s … really nice information
Linking on forum is a wasting of time in my opinion. Because all links will be removed by forum moderator and you will lose your time for nothing.
I have a question in my find are these do-follow links truely useful. According to me getting most out of the do-follow links also involves high-end strategy. Thanks for sharing good list of forums.
Actually this one is very old post of mine that I posted about 2 years ago in my deleted blog thus rather it’s wasted I posted here:d
