Jailbreak iPhone And iPod Touch With 3.1.2 Firmware Using Redsn0w 0.9

Previously I posted about Download Redsn0w 0.9 to Jailbreak iPhone And iPod Touch 3.1.2, and also have given a short benefit of what Redsn0w gives for your iPhone, well to continue the post, now I’d like to elaborate on how to Jailbreak iPhone, iPod Touch 3.1.2 with RedSn0w 0.9

Step 1:

Let’s get to the main core, here are the steps you need to do to jailbreak iPhone with Redsn0w 0.9, download Redsn0w here are the links categorized according your OS:

• Download RedSn0w 0.9 Beta (Windows): Mirror 1 | Mirror 2
• Download RedSn0w 0.9 Beta (Mac): Mirror 1 | Mirror 2

If you don’t have winzip installed on your system, you can extract the file online using the third-party service: Wobzip

And Download Original iPhone firmware

• Download iPhone OS 3.1.2 for iPhone 2G
• Download iPhone OS 3.1.2 for iPhone 3G
• Download iPhone OS 3.1.2 for iPhone 3GS

Unzip the zip file, you will find the file named Redsnow and firmware IPSW add them to your desktop folder

Step 2:

1. This step requires you to use the latest iTunes version, so update it, and open it and pick your device on the left navigation panel
2. Hold the “Shift” key on your keyboard and for Mac use “Alt”, hit the restore button in iTunes
3. And now head to download firmware 3.1.2 and choose the firmware file (.ipsw) and click “Open”
4. Now your iTunes will start to restore your iPhone firmware to iPhone OS 3.1.2

Step 3

You can activate the downloaded Redsn0w file after your iPhone or iPod touch has updated to OS 3.1.2 Firmware

Step 4

Click the browser button to provide the downloaded firmware file (.ipsw),  then Redsnow will validate your  firmware file and will then patch it, and then you need to click next button to continue

At this phase: If you are using iPhone 2G, and want to unlock the device, you can chose “Install Cydia” then unlock options and provide your bootloader files there, or if you simply want to jailbreak iPhone just hit the install Cydia and next!

Step 5

• Well if you are wishing to play around on this phase like customizing your iPhone, then you are able to pick options like “Custom Boot Logo”, “Custom Recovery Logo” and “Verbose Boot” or else skip this phase
