How To Use And Active Multitasking On iOS 4 iPhone or iPod Touch

iOS 4 was released at June, 21, 2010 and iOS4 brought the demanded features for iPhone and iPod users, yet it’s depending the Apple device users use of course. Currently and officially not all iDevices are eligible for the release, only iPhone 3G, 3Gs and the lastest iPod Touches are able to upgrade to iOS 4

And one of the demanded features available in this release is Multitasking, with it your devices have the ability active third-party-apps or switch between them easily without causing your battery life performance, but funnily some people (iPod Touch fans) are complaining their battery life are getting progressively worse. How about you, experiencing the same?

Now let’s get through the pictorial instructions on how to use multitasking on your iOS 4 iPhone or iPod touch:

  • To start with the tutorial, let’s open SpringBoard and launch Photos app for example.
  • Choose any photo that are listed inside your library afterward hit on Home button
  • Now it’s time to do a multitasking, now back to SpringBoard and then launch another app, for example Youtube app – start a video you’d like to watch

  • Now double press the Home button while the video is on. You will find multitasking menu appears from the screen bottom

  • Now it’s time to chose the Photos app we opened earlier. Notice how it nicely appears right to the photo we left it at

  • To make the multitasking reappear from the screen button then double press the Home button again. To see all the applications that are active or suspended in the background just swipe to the left. To launch the apps just hit to one of them

How to quit a background application

  • Now it’s time to stop or quit both running or suspended application placed in the background, to do so, just double press on the Home button to make multitasking appear

  • Press an hold any icon until it wiggles. Then press the delete badge at the top left of an icon to end the application.

  • To complete the action just hit the Home button
