How To Secure Jailbroken iPhone From SSH Hack
Jailbrekaing iPhone will enrich your iPhone with many features that you certainly won’t find them on default mode iPhone (normal mode) and also allow you to be able to unlock your iPhone to have a full control over your iPhone. But wait up! The bad news is your iPhone will be attack-able by hackers.
It happened awhile a go, a hacker from Dutch decided to play nasty in making money on unaware iPhone users who have jailbroked iPhone, the hacker sent SMSs alert to them to inform that: “You iPhone’s been hacked because it’s really insecure! Please visit doiop.com/iHacked and secure your iPhone right now! Right now, I can access all your files.”. Here is the screenshot of the message alert:

When the victims clicked on link, it will direct them to the hacker’s site but they were asked to pay €5 to get the hack removal instruction. So how did the hacker do that?
He took the advantage of human careless for not changing the default root password (which is alpine) or disable SSH in their iPhone. So he used a port scanning program to discover and identify jailbroken iPhone with SSH running, when he found ones, the scanning program immediately used root password to have access of the iPhone
By the said incident now we have a bigger picture on how less secure our jailbroken iPhone, thus it would be better to secure our iPhone form any possible invited and unwanted Hacking schemes by changing our default SSH root password in order to have a secured iPhone against any outsiders.
Note: this tutorial only for jailbroken iPhone!
1. Open Cydia, look for MobileTerminal app and install it. Then Reboot Your iPhone, when MobileTerminal app is installed successfully.

2. Now open up the MobileTerminal app, you will be presented with the following interface:

So here is what you need to do which is change your mobile and root profilepassword just follow the below 2 steps:
1. How to change your mobile/iPhone’s Password
Type passwd and afterward the system will ask you to provide your old password, and of course the old password is alpine like this:
iPhone:~ mobile$ passwd
Changing password of mobile.
Old password: alpine
New password: *****
Retype new password: *****
2. How to change your iPhone Root User Password
Type su to switch to root user, you will be asked for your password which should be alpine as well.
iPhone:~ mobile$ su – root
Enter root password: alpine
root@iPhone:/root> passwd
New password: *****
Retype new password: *****
Conguratulation now your iPhone is well guarded and more secured.
