How To Make Anti-Phishing Feature To Work In iPhone OS 3.1

[ 0 ] September 14, 2009 | Abi

Apple just introduced a new anti-phishing feature for iPhone OS 3.1 last week, but unfortunately it’s not working as it’s supposed to be. For those who are not actually aware of this feature and how it works. This feature is programmed to alert users when they land to bogus websites, but many reports say this anti-phishing feature doesn’t work!

Jim Dalrymple from the Loop discussed this issue with Apple, Apple responded him with a solution to fix the problem, here it’s:

“Safari’s anti-phishing database is downloaded while the user charges their phone in order to protect battery life and ensure there aren’t any additional data fees. After updating to iPhone OS 3.1 the user should launch Safari, connect to a Wi-Fi network and charge their iPhone with the screen off. For most users this process should happen automatically when they charge their phone.”

The best solution is to completely download the database for anti-phishing feature to be properly working and furthermore with this Apple will be able to make future update to further protect users from phishing, malicious and bogus websites. I hope you’ll find this post useful for your current problem :D .
