Hashtag is Tweeter users use to monitor topic of their like and catching the real time updates about certain event, so you can use this method to find the latest or any related information about the World Cup 2010 in Twitter, for example currently #worldcup is the most used tag, and followed by #wc2010 and #2010worldcup!
