How To Find iPhone 3GS Bootrom Version On Windows

You need to know what is your iPhone 3GS bootrom version, why? Because  it’s currently the available requirement in order to jailbreak iOS 4! So here’s the step by step tutorial to find out iPhone bootrom version for Windows OS!

  • Place your iPhone in DFU mode, after you have connected it to the computer.
  • Go to your Control Panel (Navigate to Start -> Control Panel)

  • In control panel, click on Hardware and Sound

  • Inside Hardware and Sound, hit on Device Manager

  • Double click to expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers category

  • Point your mouse’s cursor on Apple Mobile Device USB, then right click on it to go to Properties menu

  • Now click on Details tab and then click on Device Instance Path

  • Now move down till the end of the field to see the version of your bootroom. The version should look like [iBoot-359.3]

If iPhone 3GS bootrom version is iBoot-359.3, which means it’s the old bootrom. And the new bootrom version is iBoot-359.3.2
