How to Disable Or Turn Off Windows 7 Snap Feature

Snap is one of features listed for Windows 7, it’s called Smart Window Arrangement, it has functionality to make an easy feature for users to locate Windows any position you desire with less effort and clicks. What you need to is dragging the windows to any edge of the screen and put it there. Then it will automatically align or stick itself to the edge.

Using Snap will make you possible to drag a window and move your mouse to the edge of the screen and the window will re-size to fill half the screen. Repeat with the other window on the other side.

But not all people found it to be helpful feature, by which they don’t find comfortable using Snap. But don’t worry we can disable or turn off Snap from automatically arrange Windows then it’s moved to the edge of screen:

How to Disable and Turn Off Windows 7 Snap Smart Window Arrangement

  1. Run Register Editor (RegEdit).
  2. Navigate to the following registry key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
  3. In the right-pane, double click (or right click and select Modify) on WindowArrangementActive, and set its REG_SZ value to 0.
  4. Disable Windows 7 Snap Auto Window Arrangement

  5. Close Registry Editor.
  6. Log off and log on again, or restart computer for the change to take effect.

Or you can simply download the registry registration file to add the value . Double click the Disable-Windows-7-Snap.reg in order to avoid windows from snapping & cya!
