Google has officially announced to stop censoring their search result on Google China (Google.cn). The decision was taken as the follow-up for the sophisticated cyber attacked launched from China against Gmail accounts of human right activists which allegedly composed by Chinese government – accumulated with the series of attempts from China Government to block websites like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Google Docs and Blogger in the past as the efforts to effectively limit the freedom of speech on the web in China
As the result of Google “stopping censoring in China”, now Google.cn users will be redirected to Google.com.hk, if they want to continue using the services – but without censorship of course. And it’s specifically designed for users in mainland China and delivered through Google servers in Hong Kong.
Hongkong users are still be able to use their existing uncensored, traditional Chinese service from Google.com.hk too. The consequence of this decision makes the service is temporary slow due to the increased load on Google’s HK servers or find some products temporarily inaccessible as we switch everything over.
China feels betrayed with Google’s stop censoring decision:
China government is feeling discontent and betrayed over Google recent and official announcement to stop censoring and withdraw their services from China:
“Google has violated its written promise it made when entering the Chinese market by stopping filtering its searching service and blaming China in insinuation for alleged hacker attacks,” said the official.
And China expressed its dissatisfaction toward Google’s accusations on “cyber attacks” issue:
“This is totally wrong. We’re uncompromisingly opposed to the politicization of commercial issues, and express our discontent and indignation to Google for its unreasonable accusations and conducts,” the official said.
Well the issue of the google and china is now an international issue, both needs to show some patience or it will create a big problem.
The chinese people should be able to decide in favor of a government with less censorship, this is so 19th century.
China feels betrayed!!!???
China has betrayed its own people for too long. The world needs to boycott the country.
I love the people, hate their government.
