Skype is software that gives you the opportunity to make telephone calls throughout the internet for free. Calling other Skype user who logged in within it and to free-of-charge numbers are free, it also has additional features such as file transfer, video conferencing and of course instant messaging like you meet in Yahoo Messenger or in Window Live messenger.
But the different is Skype uses P2P (peer-to-peer) technology to connect you to other users.
Skype was created by Niklas Zennström, Janus Friis, and their software team developers based in Tallin, Estonia. Its headquarters in Luxembourg, placed its offices in London, Tallin, Stockholm, Prague, Tartu and San Jose.
