Feeling reluctant to root your Samsung Galaxy Note because of fear it will increase the flash counter? Then remove your fear, because there is Odin-Flashable root method recently launched by XDA Member, named Mashi, that will allow you to root your Samsung Galaxy Note without increasing flash counter, however this method only applies to AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note, other than this model doesn’t work.

For those who does not know what is Flash Counter in Note, is the way Samsung set to track their users who flash something to their device and who don’t. And the Flash Counter is tracking how many times you flashed kernel over Odin.

And previously we have XDA moderator, Da_G posted a method for rooting Samsung Galaxy Note, however its method raise the Falsh Counter. Fortunately we have another method, released by another XDA member Mashi that deal with the problem, therefore you can root Samsung Galaxy NOTE without increasing flash counter.

Things to do before rooting:

• Back up all data you thing is important like Contacts, Messages, Music and etc before flashing.
• Enable your Device in USB debugging mode. To do so you can navigate to: Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging
• Has at least 75% battery power.

Instructions:

1. Download this file pda.tar.
2. To flash the file in Odin, open Odin from computer and turn of your phone to enter the download mode. To enter download mode, press Volume down key + Center button + Power button together.
3. Use USB cable to connect between your Computer to PC, once the two is connected, you will see ID:COM in Odin turn yellow, means all the drivers are accordingly installed.
4. Select the pda.tar file you downloaded in the first step. Then click on START to start the process automatically. You will see your phone takes restart, means the process is properly finished.

Finish now you have managed to root Samsung Galayx Note without Flash Counter increased, this means Samsung will not track your flashing activities. Congratulation!
