Apple is scheduling to launch Mac OS X Snow Leopard in September, just one month earlier before the release of Windows 7 which is on October, the two giant companies will compete to each other to dominate the operating system market, albeit Microsoft with its Windows is still be the most used OS because almost no computer goes out without being equipped with the whole Microsoft package, as if Windows is the standard OS for computer, however to deal this situation Apple keeps doing needed improvements to meet the demand of a modern OS must has, in result there are considerable amount of Windows users decided to migrate and use Mac, like in Mac OS X Snow Leopard Apple has designed it to meet the all expectations, here is the list of Apple promised:

Today or this dawn in my country time I announce that I quit my participation on Sulumits Retsambew, it’s not because I give up or afraid of losing, nah I am not afraid of anything especially lose. But I just don’t have what it takes to be in 2 sides at the same times, what I mean is I can’t continue my participation in Sulumits Retsambew, that certainly needs my times and energy, while at the same time running my blogs.

Thus I better quit, beside I didn’t set this blog to be my vehicle to win the contest, but this one. And at the first time I also didn’t have intention to take part in this contest till it finish, only accepting my friend’s challenge, so my participation only temporary.

Besides, it’s been almost a week that I don’t give any touch to optimize my Sulumits Retsambew page since I have plenty things to do I consider more important. So this is just official announcement while the unofficial had already done by me only. And currently I won’t be thinking to support anyone in this contest nor even give a single backlink to anyone. My friend Ellias from McMunny Online recently has launched a motivating article named Blogg; Cause & Effect. In the article he reminds about the importance of hardworking and persistence in order to make us as bloggers to keep ourselves on tracks, if we desire to monetize our blog or planning to do blogging for living. He also added that as bloggers we must not fall easily into tempting slogan about making money instantly, which this aspect will cause you quit blogging easily if no fast money comes as you have fancied.

I agree with his saying in the article, because both in real world and on the net nothing seems to be instant to get money. Everything takes a process, monetizing blog is no exception. Once you think that you will gain money instantly on the net, then you’ve opened the wide open door for scammers to scam you. Believe me you are an easy prey, since those scammers are good in making tempting promise to drag your ignorance into their traps. And you’ll likely be disappointed for being scammed and eventually you will decide to quit blogging before you get even a single penny.

I’m going to tell you a bit about my experience in making money through blogging. I started doing blogging seriously on March, 2007 and participated in several making money online programs at April. And I got my first payment at October, 2007 it was $145. And from November, 2007 up till February 2008, i’ve collected about $1,000 from Google Adsense, TLA, SponsoredReviews, PayPerPost, Bidvertiser, Adbrite.

You see? It took me almost a year to get $1,145. It’s a long journey and it’s obviously not a short let alone an instant trip! May be other people are luckier than myself, they might have gained 10 times bigger than I got in their first years. But still, they took a great deal of efforts to earn what they have in their pockets now and certainly not one night efforts!

Well to those who happen read this article I just want to say that, it will be much and much better to think how to optimize your blog rather than focusing your self on how to gain money instantly. If you have an optimized blog then what ever you will do to your blog afterwards will be a lot easier. Dig the soil, and sow your seeds, someday you will reap of what you sowed & See ya!

There are 2 interesting and surprising incidents worth exposing and noting about  Google that I have found, it’s related the ability of Google in providing reliable and good service to its users. First incident is about the result Google displays for Oscar Winners keyword, if you search for “Oscar Winners” then no actual and clear answer given by Google, so you are left with confusion on who the winners might be. Google displays the page based on keywords in description field and number of incoming links point to the page with text link related to Oscar and Winners, in result the page appears, no matter when was the page published. But different result yet accurate and up-to-date found if searching the same keyword in Ask.com, see the following image:

Ask.com gives a complete, clear and up-to-date result.

Is Google becoming stupid now? Michael Gary Wolf gives amusing What if post about this confusion. What if some publishers get together to sabotage Google with really inaccurate information such as “July 4th is the day Great Brittan Celebrates Victory over the American Colonies” and massively post about it in their blogs, will Google display such result in result page for ones searching for “July 4th”?

Google must gives a serious attention to fix this before everything goes badly uncontrolled, imagines if this situation used by bunch of irresponsible folks to bombard Google with really irrelevant information for their own benefit, there will be a huge misleading information for Google users

And then Google will lose trust from information seekers and they will turn to another search engine such as Yahoo.com, MSN and ASK.COM, if this happens Google’s death will come in near future.

And another incident, I found this story yesterday in the forum I currently participate with. There’s a guy who changed its url structure from underscores to hypens (for example /post_title.html to /post-title.html).

The guy has removed the old to new url for approximately 2 months ago, but Google still hasn’t removed the old url from its index, however Google has indexed the new one. The guy has done everything necessarily and required, such as updating sitemap, 301 redirecting all his old urls to the new ones and also removing old url from Google webmaster.com yet no effect at all, somehow Google still shows the old urls in SERP.

But surprisingly yahoo! only took 3 weeks to updated and correctly displayed the changes.

Google what’s happening to you? Are you gradually becoming stupid now? Hmmm I hope not!

  2. Write a brief author information.
  3. Then Update Profile.

• Changing the Logo:
  1. Use the logo.psd found at the /mahusay/images folder.
  2. Edit it using your favorite graphics application.
  3. Save as background-sitename.gif and upload it at the /wp-content/themes/mahusay/images folder.

Custom Fields

• Posting a Featured Content:
  1. Write a post and place it at the “Featured” category.
  2. In your post, go below the Custom Fields section.
  3. Key: articleimg
  4. Value: url of the image (with at least width: 606px and height: 220px)
  5. Then click Add Custom Field.
  6. Save or Publish your post.

• Changing the default post thumbnail:
  1. In your post, go below the Custom Fields section.
  2. Key: paddimage
  3. Value: url of the image in the uploads folder (i.e. /wp-content/uploads/2008/11/thumbnail.png), don’t worry about the size because it will be resized automatically.
  4. Then click Add Custom Field.
  5. Save or Publish your post.

Do we have right to dictate others let alone insinuate them jokingly? IMHO every one has their own preferences, purpose and surely expectations when it comes to using something they regard could benefit them, as long it doesn’t cause you a trouble. I hardly accept when some folks start to dictate etiquette. Why this is big for me? Because by the various of how and why some folks use their techniques, we have the opportunity to appreciate our differences instead of fertilizing binding etiquette rules and insinuating others for going against himself rule.

Why are we bothering ourselves to criticize others when there’s something more important to take care of which is optimizing your blog in this contest?

As a starting point to elaborate this issue is to firstly understand on program used by Google in spidering and crawling a site/blog which is generally called Bot, it is the crawler or spider program that indexes pages for Google daily or frequently depends on popularity of a blog/site.

Google Bot is divided into three bots:

1. Adsense bot
2. Freshbot
3. DeepCrawl

Adsense bot, the name speaks for it self, yes it’s used by Google to recognizes what is publisher’s pages is all about, by receiving message from JavaScript of Adsense code we added in our template, so it can deliver relevant ads with the page content.

Freshbot is the most active bot among other bots, it regularly visits a blog to crawls the most popular pages. It doesn’t matter if that is one page or thousands. But the frequency of its visit measured on popularity of a site/blog, certainly the more popular a site the more frequent Freshbot will visit it. News site like BBC, CNN or online marketplace site like Ebay.com crawled in a matter of minutes a day.

Each site/blog must be having deeper links, thus what happen to them if Freshbot finds them during its visit? Freshbot will place the links within a database, and put them in queue till the time of DeepCrawl to take actions.

DeepCrawl bot is arranged to visit a blog monthly, before its visit, it firstly checks deeper links placed in queue of database, then grab them all to use as references when crawling a blog. Because it’s set to visit a blog monthly, thus it will take a month to get your entire content fully indexed in Google.

Therefore as a blogger/webmaster, our task to get the top position is doing a regular or may be a frequent update to a blog with fresh, informative or entertaining contents and build a valuable link building campaign, certainly the last yet the most important IS PATIENT.

I hate Reviewme, I started to regard it as a very low quality paid review program for its constant jobs it gives to me for reviewing gambling sites. I hate reviewing such sites/products, I’d prefer not to get job at all than have to write about it. I don’t mean to act like a saint, but it’s not my way to promote something that against my Principle. I don’t want to contaminate my quality blogs only for $10 or $20 for reviewing gambling site.

I just hope Reviewme.com will offer something that have quality, I know it’s only a middleman, but I don’t get along with it now, I won’t recommend Reviewme.com to anyone now, until I get a decent jobs that I regard fit on me.

Last night I officially changed the theme of this blog to be more eye-catching and clean to anyone who land this blog, I picked up Pixelate WordPress theme by WP Themes Plugin.com. But the newly theme still needs big changeover in its crucial parts, like in the header and footer. The current header must be removed because I don’t feel mesmerized with it, but I have not found a proper image that blends to the rest of the theme parts. Another bug left is the form and color of the footer. I have been looking for the right color to be the background of the footer, so far, I failed to find it.

I plan to have the clean and stylish theme, because, believe it or not, a theme can motivate the owner to continue maintain it. If you don’t like the theme of your blog, you will be likely don’t get motivated to update it or at least don’t feel confident to show it to your friends.

Talking about theme consequently we talk about beauty, I know beautifulness is relative but don’t forget! Ugliness is absolute. Thus when you feel your theme is ugly, then it’s ugly, people will go along with you.

Therefore making efforts of hacking this theme to suit my criteria is a must, to keep me on track to maintain this blog. So far, nothing seems to be a big problem, everything running smooth. Insha Allah, in the next couple of days I will found nice idea what to put in the header and juggle the look of the footer into incredible stylish design.
