Nothing big offered on this update except minor changes to fix the potential bug on Win32, more stable and cosmetic changes toward the JB tool. Anyway, frankly there is no need to upgrade to this version as the developer of this tool says nothing really new, and no need it re-apply the jb, if you are already jailbroken.

Wait up, of course there is something special comes with this update, not to add more features toward Mac OS or Windows, but Absinthe for Linux is finally released and bound with the update, that’s why I placed Linux and Absinthe picture on the first paragraph to make you notice.

Now Linux users, can taste the sweetness of untethered jailbreak now on their A5 based phone.

PlanetBeing just surprised us with the news that we have been expecting, which is the availability of download Absinthe for Windows. Yes you read it right, after about two days we, as Windows users, only can see the Mac OS spoiled with the jailbreak tool.

But that doesn’t mean the Pod2G dream team didn’t think about us, they did, therefore we finally receive the Absinthe version for Windows because their kindness. Right guys? So chill out now as you will immediately download it. Anyway Absinthe has reached the version 0.2 this also applies for Mac OS version.

The Absinthe v0.2 is bringing the wanted fixes like no reboot after activating VPN and also blank or white icons on springboard found on the previous version.

Easy and quick fix for White icon apps on Springboard or Homescreen, is simply launch Cydia and then select any free apps there, install the package and then run it. Hope that solves the problem. And also try Absinthe white screen.

Corona Injector Command-Line Interface (CLI) for A5 device has been updated recently bringing support for Windows PC, however using CLI takes advanced skill, but if you are able to, then you can jailbreak your A5 devices from your Windows PC.

CLI is originally designed for MAC OS X, but now it’s supporting Windows, however most of Windows users, me included, are expecting the iPhone Dev team or Chronic Dev team to release the Absinthe for Windows version.

But apparently we need to wait for sometimes, and takes this CLI a temporarily solution, and help the iPhone Dev team debug specific issues from our try.

Version 0.4.3 adds support for Windows users. It also makes the “-j” jailbreak option much more functional See the README.txt for usage.

These are fixes for A5 Untethered jailbreak bug, the bug is Absinthe white screen, and many users who have tried to install Absinthe reported that they find Absinthe white screen. How to fix Absinthe white screen.

Fix 1.

1. Disable PIN lock on your phone and delete email account.
2. Rerun Absinthe jailbreak.
3. Then set VPN toggle to ON.

Fix 2

1. Close Absinthe via multitasking, turn passcode off.
2. Open Absinthe app again, close it again via multitasking, then turn VPN On, close notification, then open Absinthe again.
3. iPhone will be black suddenly with loading spinner on screen.

Okey, iPhone-Dev team has released Redsn0w 0.9.10b4 and the tool brings the same fixes like Corona and designed to kicks out LaunchIt Error once and for all.

It was MuscleNerd that brought the news for the first time via Twitter and of course it was welcomed joyfully by people who are waiting in the line wishing for A5 untethered jailbreak Redsn0w 0.9.1b4 release.

It was XVolks the guy who ported it to Corona untether, he managed to completely patch the Sandbox. Therefore thanks to him for his work that finally we have iBooks crash eliminated after it’s been biting us for weeks.

I don’t need to write more, because you have heard all about what this utility offers once installed to your device, so these are the download links based on your existing OS.

If your iOS 5.0.1 already jailbroken with previous Redsn0w version, you can upgrade to this version by simply re-running this version on your existing Redsn0w jailbreak but be sure to deselect “Install Cydia” option during the process, surely you don’t want to overwritte the existing Cydia, right?

Just want to let you know that Saurik and Chronic-Dev team have pushed update to Corona untether for iOS 5.0.1 this morning, dubbed Corona 1.0-5, frankly this one the second update of the previous 1.0-4.

The reason for the second update was due to some users didn’t notice they need to reboot their device once they installed the 1.0-4 for the untether to takes effect.

As the result many users reported they failed in the updating process. Seeing the situation Saurik took an initiative act to bring minor feature in 1.0-5 which is to force reboot after upgraded.

The major updates for Corona today was to fix the iBooks crash and to stabilizes errors found in several Cydia applications and Tweaks. These are updates included in 1.0-4 and automatically put in the 1.0-5 too.

Anyway if this is your first time hearing Corona — albeit I very much doubt it — Corona is untethered jailbreak utility released last year by Chronic-Dev team based on Pod2G’s exploit along with the release of Redsn0w 0.9.10b1.

Both Corona and Redsn0w bring the same utility, the blatant different between these two is to use Corona your iPhone must already jailbroke, whether using Redsn0w or PwnageTool.

Thus these two jailbreak utilities are supporting each other. In otherwise, you can regard Redsn0w is the starting point to further jailbreak your iOS 5.0.1 using Corona.

Anyway if you want to install or upgrade to Corona 1.0-5, you can do so by launching Cydia store and then refresh your source or if this your first time to install Corona package, search for Corona and then install its package and then follow the further steps.

PlanetBeing recently updated the progress he has achieved on his quest of A5 untethered jb project, this time he told us via Tweeter that he managed to run unsigned code to iPhone 4s indicating the A5 untethered release is few steps closer for public.

Well, considering the Sandbox conqueror by the same guy with Saurik’s help, therefore one can expect the iPhone 4s jailbreak’s release will come in no time. But that does not mean we can bark at the guy and shout inappropriate remarks, okey?

Apple has seed the iOS 5.1 beta 3 today making it for developers only version, that as usual needs investigations to find out what this iOS firmware is offering.

Certainly bug fixes and improvements for certain areas are included.

However that assumption won’t be enough and satisfying for iOs community, they want to disclose all the curtains that cover the treasures or clues within.

At time being, Macrumors has done a good job enclosing the iOS 5.1 b 3 hidden clues to audience. 3Gs toggle to disable or enable (turn of f or on) 3G cellular data is discovered, apparently Apple decided to restore the feature and make it available for iPhone 4s. Nevertheless beware this feature can drain your battery life quicker than EDGE.

The second finding is a new API for excluding app content from being backed up.

iOS 5.1 introduces a new API to mark files or directories that should not be backed up. For NSURL objects, add the NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute to prevent the corresponding file from being backed up.

Having this feature in hand will be helping iOS developers marking contents (files and folder) being stored for offline usage, instead put them away to a backup however not be subject to removal during the purging of caches.
