Links that point to our homepage or subpages are always beneficial for our blog popularity, thereof I always put a special attention to increase amount of backlinks point to my blog. And accidentally while I was Googling this dawn, I found a post that informs about a huge list of forums which allow their member to put links in their signatures, and the forums removed the nofollow tag. That’s a wonderful news!
Google’s rule: the more backlinks mean more votes, the more votes mean more popularity, more popularity mean rank well in Search Engine Result Page, rank well means more visitors, the more visitors mean more money for us. It’s a bit complicated chain, but with a lucrative consequence. All SEO minded bloggers will agree with me on this concern.

Just an update, SitePoint’s forums have been nofollow since last year.
@Matt, no Sitepoint still dofollow but you must reach a certain posts (I don’t know exactly how many post we need, usually above 100 posts then our link in signature will be followed) to remove the nofollow tag in signature.

What you need now is SEO, In order to work with SEO firstly you need to have WordPress blog, if your site is not WordPress then go download the latest WordPress version here. And install it to your hosting.

This is a FANTASTIC list. I’ve found many of these forums are so loved by google’s search spiders that it can be a good way to get a new post (or site) at least seen by the search spider.
Backlinks are VERY valuable and I would argue more powerful than the direct traffic that you’re going to get from these forums. You will certainly learn things in many of these forums. With regards to backlinks from multiple posts in a single forum… it’s been my impression that the power of multiple links from the same IP address (or site) are not as effective as multiple sites – so you will likely see better impact from visiting multiple forums.

Hi guys, for sure this whole thing about blogcommenting that aims to trap some link juice has to get to an end. I bet Google will come up with some form of algorithm soon that will determine that from end of blog post, all links are devalued, of something like that… but hey, good list Busby. I am not sure I am agree with one of the comments made about wordpress being a must if you are into SEO, i agree it is impressive, versatile and the plug-ins made tasks so much easier, however having been on movabletype for 3 years now, I have to say that I am still impressed with how strong and robus the platform is, plus it is very secured… so wordpress is great yes, but there are other tools which are also good.

So far the blogging platforms I have worked with only Blogspot and WordPress, the 2 have been giving me very great results, but WordPress gives me more than Blogspot. Therefore I don’t know any other platforms who can match WordPress, may be I should start using other platforms such as Moveabletype or Typepad to widen my experience in Blogsphere, thanks for your opinion and comment.

Great great list! I have registered on many already. And I know that sitepoint has turned to nofollow. It has made the sig links invisible to the unregistered guests which includes search engine boots making those sig links useless.

That was a nice list you have compiled. I am already a member of some forums listed. I just wanna say that if you just want to register and have a backlink in them, forget it! You should register and participate because you want to and you want to learn or share your knowledge to other members.
